Challenger II Factory Aluminum Seat Kits
Here is the process I went through to install the factory aluminum seat
kits. They are very nice, but needed to have better seats made as they
are harder on your rear end with the factory seat pads.
First, removed the slings of course with good old utility knife.
Then, I put together the factory seat kits, drilled holes for mounting, and put them in.

Here's a picture of the mounting hardware on the rear of the new seat bottom.

Rear seat bottom was installed in the same manner, except I did not
fully mount the front of the seat bottom. I used velcro so the
seat can be raised improving access the to elevator push rod.

Then, I got some sheets of aluminun, marked, cut and installed new seat
backs to support the seat pads. A new cross brace was also
installed above the rear seat bottom so a hinge could be placed giving
access to the fuel tank.

One other thing recommended to me was to place a sort of 'cross brace'
behind the front seat upright supports to keep the rear stick from
getting lodged . Worked out pretty well really.

Here is an overall picture of the installation.
